It was funny that on the train from Bratislava to Vienna we met Tomas, my friend and schoolmate in Vienna. What a great coincidence! We talked on and on until our ways were separated. On the night train from Vienna to Geneva we met an older Slovakian couple, visiting their daughter in Switzerland. They agreed that we can share their reserved coupé with them and talked while waiting for the train at the station. They were pretty nice, we just lost to each other during a quick train transfer somewhere close to Geneva. Regarding to our night sleep on train: I was unbelievable for me how I hated the discomfort that night. I was afraid of getting ill from stupid air conditioning, I could not fall asleep and when I managed to, I had constantly nightmares (if you squeeze your body in less than 1meter, no wonder that you have bad dreams). It was hard for me to believe how I could easily sleep on benches, buses and trains on my travel around Canada. Did I go out of shape, grow lazy or what? I got up early in the morning to take some beautiful picture of the landscape. Geneva Lake is magnificent! I can imagine living there, it must be a paradise to live in the Swiss Alps. Maybe one day, we shall see :)

The first night on train: Vienna >> Geneve (journey)
At first we took a train from Bratislava to Vienna. Arriving to the station, we found out that the billet office was unfortunately closed. What bad luck, we did not have any place to buy our tickets and we were to have paid a fine on train. However, a glimpse of luck helped us out – there was no travelling ticket collector on train. As far as I know, something like that had happened to me only 2 times: firstly approximately a year ago on a night train and secondly now. We managed to save 15€ each for the train tickets, so no wonder that we were deliriously happy at that. Furthermore, in Vienna we were advised to save money on one night train reservation. “Great, our journey is starting very well”, we thought and agog we enjoyed our next steps.
