Set it off 2: Illitenary (journey)

So, this is it: I am leaving for another travelling adventure throughout the central and northern Europe, now together with a friend of mine. Her name is Lila and I have known her for a long time. I was not sure whether she can withstand all troubles that might crop up during the travel, but I hoped that together we can see through to the end. When her boyfriend saw her off at the train station, I realized that this time I was not responsible only for myself, but I also needed to have regard for someone else. Actually, I wanted to go travelling with someone. Although I enjoyed my travel around Canada very much, I think you always need someone whom you can share the great moments with. I knew that Lila is an experienced traveller, so I was positive that she would be a great companion.
Maybe now is the right time to write few facts about our travel. We were going to participate on a voluntary work camp in Finland and we decided to do some travelling before we actually got there. We checked the prices of plane and bus tickets, but found them overpriced. Therefore, we had to look for a reasonable solution.
One day by looking at the European map we came to an amazing idea: to travel by train via Eurrail tickets to Finland and to use the same tickets for our way back home. We purchased the Interrail tickets for 22 days which included 11 days of travelling for 250€. It is quite a lot, but in compare to single tickets from Bratislava to Helsinki and back, our journey around Europe was only about 100€ more expensive than as if we had travelled normally. I really like that we planned everything thoroughly long time before our departure. Everything was set, we knew all necessary details – what a difference from my travel around Canada, when I did not know almost anything. Our ambitious plans included Geneva, Paris, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki, Berlin and Wien – sounds great for 250€, eh?  Lila agreed to my incentive and low-cost travelling way (no money for accommodation). We were supposed to stay overnight only in Paris and Amsterdam, other nights we were to spend on night trains. By excellently planned illiteracy, I was really impressed and looking forward to our journey.
