Geneve (city)
We had wonderful, sunny weather during our short visit in Geneve. After we had left our backpacks at the train station, we strode in the city. I was impressed by the beautiful architecture, the cathedral of st. Pierre, countless fountains with drinking water, super expensive goods from matches to buns, free WiFi in the whole downtown and the rip-off money exchange rate (1€ to 1.25 Francs instead of 2 Francs) We had a great tour around the city, saw basically the most of it, just missed the English Gardens. I am deeply sorry about that, because instead of enjoying our free time in Geneva, I had to send some email regarding to my Erasmus staying in Edinburgh. That English Garden is supposed to have the biggest natural flower clock in the world – what a pity we could not see that! Whatever, I am happy that we saw the huge fountain, which pumps water in a gigantic 140m height with the speed of 200 km/h. We were walking only few metres from it and got completely wet :D This monument can be seen from almost every place in the downtown and is illustrated in the most postcards of Geneva. The sun plays great scenery with the water fountain - sparkling water behind the sunshine is breathtaking. It is said that during the night it is illuminated by some reflectors. That must be also spectacular; I wish I could have seen that. In the end, we had to take our train to “The End of the World” and left Geneve at 20:25.
